Dr. Amanda Sie, O.D.
For Dr. Amanda Ham Sie, being an optometrist has always been about more than helping people see clearly. What she enjoys most is getting to know the person sitting in front of her and knowing that, by the end of the visit, she has helped make something better.
Originally from Iuka, Mississippi, Dr. Sie attended the University of Mississippi before continuing her education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she earned both her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees. After graduating from optometry school, she moved to Charlotte in 1997 and has been caring for patients as an optometrist for 29 years.
That experience has shaped the personal approach she brings to Sie Eyecare. Dr. Sie enjoys building relationships with her patients, listening to what they’re experiencing, and helping them understand their vision and eye health. For her, there’s a real sense of accomplishment in knowing she has helped someone.
Outside the practice, Dr. Sie spends most of her free time with her family. She and Dr. Joseph Sie have three children, so family activities tend to keep her calendar full. And when it comes to keeping that calendar—and just about everything else—in order, Dr. Sie happily admits that organization is one of her talents.
